The World Congress incorporates a number of specialized Two-Day Academies & meetings, most of which take place over the weekend of August 26th and 27th. These Academies all take advantage of the Internationally renowned faculty of the World Congress to provide unique learning opportunities that wouldn't ordinarily be available.

You can register for these independently of the World Congress, or add them to a new or existing World Congress registration.

Grown-up Childhood Heart Disease for the Adult Cardiologist

An opportunity for Adult Cardiologists, Internists, Family Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and others to review key topics regarding cardiovascular disease which initially presented when your patients were neonates, infants, children, or adolescents. Now as adults, special expertise and knowledge is required for care. International PDA Symposium

The 5th International PDA Symposium is a one-of-a-kind conference that will feature experts in the field of cardiology, neonatology, cardiac surgery, pulmonology, nursing, anesthesiology, general pediatrics, intensivists, and researchers to come together to discuss the management of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in premature infants. 

The program will encompass talks from distinguished experts in the management of the PDA in the premature newborn, panel discussions, debates, hands-on workshops, case discussions, abstract presentations with the most up to date information on this topic.

Mobassaleh Symposium on Sudden Cardiac Death in the Young

The Mobassaleh Symposium will focus on the identification and treatment of medical conditions that can lead to sudden cardiac death in children and teens, including life-threatening arrhythmias, international screening strategies, tools for the allied health professional, primary electrical disease of the heart, sudden cardiac death with coexisting congenital or acquired cardiac conditions, genetic testing, channelopathies and more.

Nursing CHD Academy

This comprehensive two-day academy focuses on the spectrum of congenital heart disease, from simple to complex, from presentation in the neonate to those presenting at older ages, from the operating room and ICU to home.

The course content is of particular interest to nurses and advanced practice providers who care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents in the intensive care unit (neonatal, pediatric and/or cardiac), other inpatient units, the operating room, cath lab, outpatient clinic and elsewhere. There is something for providers from all levels of training and experience in this comprehensive academy.

Over 10 Nursing Contact Hours will be provided.

Pediatric Cardiology for the Primary Care Practitioner

Produced in collaboration with the Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the American Academy of Pediatrics, this is a unique opportunity for Pediatricians, Family Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and others to review key topics regarding cardiovascular health and disease in neonates, infants, children, and adolescents.  

Topics will include the Cardiac History and Physical Examination; Infections and Inflammation of the Heart (including Kawasaki and Covid); a systematic approach to Chest pain, Palpitations and Syncope; Obesity, Hypertension, Congenital Heart Disease, Screening Strategies, Communication, and more. These topics are particularly relevant for general practice, but also have been chose to serve as a Review for Board Examination and Recertification.

PICS Live 2023

The Pediatric and Congenital Interventional Cardiovascular Society (PICS) is excited to host the 26th Annual Scientific Sessions alongside and within the World Congress. The two Scientific Committees have worked together to produce the most comprehensive scientific learning opportunity ever, including, for the first-time, extensive collaboration with many other societies from around the globe. 

Each morning, PICS Live 2023 will feature Live Cases from ten international sites across four continents with real-time discussion by experts in the field.
